SAFETY REGULATIONS

1) Usage of the device is authorized only after acquaintance with the given instructions.

2) Use the device to avoid fire, electrocution or injury. Keep the device away from children. Always supervise children near the device. Store the device indoors in a dry location. Do not use the device in or nearby water.

3) Most of our devices are made of plastic and could melt or burn if they come in contact with any heat source or other fire. Do not set up, use or store devices against or near any open flames, heaters, furnaces or other hot objects and do not place it under direct sunlight.

 

 

INTRODUCTION

 

Thank you for purchasing Auricular test software.  You are about to discover the comfort and convenience of the software.  

The present Maintenance Guide is intended for acquaintance with the rules and order of the electro-acupuncture testing and Auricular test software operation. 

Auricular test software has been designed to be easy and simple to use  and comes with a comprehensive guidance to maximize ease of use. The Maintenance Guide contains information necessary for correct software  operation. You should read the manual carefully before using your software.

 

OVERVIEW OF THE SOFTWARE

 

Our software can be used to assess a whole body health via auricular points measurements and obtain information for proper subsequent influence that you use in your practice.  The software is intended for getting system evaluation, for defining functional activity of organs and systems with the help pf electrical conductance measurements and problems’ correction with color and frequencies. 

 

The main objective of the software to become integrated with a computer in a more user-friendly way for a practitioner. It allows the practitioner to send results of auricular points measurements directly to their PC and create automated and accurate information for providing patients with an objective, patient-friendly, graphical print out at each visit.

The direct reading from probe to computer saves the practitioner's time and allows to obtain analysis information of the entire body within a short time.

                                          

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

 

The place of examination should be protected against the high-power sources of electromagnetic fields to avoid the interference in the measurement process. If there are other electrical devices which are the sources of electromagnetic fields, it is necessary to switch them off before person’s examination.

The connection of the USB- port cable, electrodes for frequency correction, measuring active/passive probes and passive probe is realized only in dedicated for them jacks (sockets).  

The computer should be reliably grounded.

 

 

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS TO EXAMINATION PROCEDURE:

 

An examinee should take off watches, rings, glasses with metallic items, jewelry which may interfere with the readings should be removed before examination. Hands and feet should not be moistened with oils, lotions or excessive perspiration.  It is undesirable to take pills, alcohol, coffee affecting nervous system prior to the examination. Before taking a measurement wait for some time after drill, meal, etc. A person should be calm and relaxed.  Don’t hold the passive electrode too firm or too loose as it can create altered measurements (too firm contact creates higher readings, too soft contact creates lower readings).

 

To create an accurate reading an examiner should not touch the examinee during measurement (only touching the measurement point by the active/passive probe, no physical contact).

Make sure that the moistened cotton on the active/passive probe is in contact with metal of the probe. The moist cotton should not be too wet or too dry. It is appropriate to douse in water the active/passive probe to maintain cotton moistened during the test.

If the skin of the examinee is too moistened with oils, lotions or perspiration dab gently excess moisture avoiding friction over the hands.  During measurement don’t press too hard or too gentle on the examined points.    

 

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

 

Electric cardiac pacemaker; coagulation failure; congenital deformity of central nervous system; implantable cardio stimulator; individual intolerance to current electricity; injury on a skin after electro stimulation; state of acute psychic excitement or intoxication (alcohol),  pregnancy.

ELEMENTS OF THE SOFTWARE’S MAIN WINDOW

 

After the start of the program the Introductory window appears on the screen. Some elements are typical for all windows in Windows, some are specific for the device’s software.

 

  TITLE BAR

 

The Title bar is on the top of the program window, the name of the program (in our case «EAR») is indicated in Title bar. The title bar is always highlighted by a blue color.  It indicates which window is active at the given moment.

 

 

The window control buttons on the right in the title bar allow you to: minimize the window into a button on a taskbar , or  close the window .

 

TOOLBOX  PANEL

 

            Toolbox panel is under the title bar

 

 

 

Languages –   helps to choose necessary language. Press the button 

 

 

 

Options –

 

 

     Proxy Settings – helps you to set the proxy

 

 

Registration  – shifts you to your personal page connected with the software issue in the Internet.

 

 

       Help – to get information about software and device operation.  You are connected with our  

       Support Team through the Internet.

Get available updates for the software.

 

STATUS LINE

 

            Status line is at the bottom of  the Introductory window.

 

 

  . -  shows client’s   name and surname 

 

 - displays time and date of a test.

 

 - defines device’s number. In this example it shows that device is not connected to the computer.

 

 

MENU BAR

 

Menu  is in the left field of the software’s window.  

Press necessary button to execute  command.

 

 

Client’s card

 

 

The Clients tab   is a management database which records client information (such as name, last name, phone, etc.) and test histories.

 

Vertical scroll  is right to the client’s card

Press the buttons Up  or Down  on the vertical scroll to move a list with clients.

 

To choose a client from the list click on the client’s Name, Surname.

The line with the selected client will be highlighted in blue.

Buttons  New, Edit, Delete are used to work with the client’s information.

 

Each time you want to view the information about a person, edit or delete it, choose the client by pressing his Name or Surname

 

.

 

 

Click the  button  to enter a new client’s card and type in the Name, Surname, Date of birth, Sex and contact details.

 

 

When you enter the information for a new client, the software’s window appears in a following way:   

 

Client’s card has various fields. Press the necessary one and enter the all information required for it.

 

 

  – changes the information in a client’s card.

 Select the client’s name and press the ‘Edit’ button and make all necessary changes.

 

Click  . All changes are saved in a client’s card.

If you want to cancel the all changes, press the button .

 

  –  this button removes a client from the client’s list. Choose necessary client in a client’s card and press .

 

Then confirm or cancel the client’s deletion:

 

 

Note:  once you delete the client, all his personal details are removed including measurements’ history. 

 Search  :

 

This option enables a user to search for a necessary client  by Name, Surname, Date of birth, Date of test.

Enter a text in  a search line, mark  a search criteria and press the button  .

 

 

Point’s Info.

Points Atlas   is supposed for getting information on localization and therapeutic indication of auricular points.

In the left part of the window you can find the list with diseases.

 

Right part of the window contains the list of points.

Information review of the point.

 

With the mouse click choose one of the points in the list. The information about the point will be displayed below.

 

Relation  «Diseases -Points».

 

            With the mouse click choose one of the diseases in the list and the window with points will display only those points connected with the given disease.

 

In order to return to the list with all points, press the button  located above the list with points

 

 

Search for a point by picture

 

            To search for a point by picture you need:

1. Choose a picture using the buttons  .
2. With the left click of the mouse press on the point you want

 

 

 

 

 

In our current example a point is marked with the red color  and displayed its name

 

 

and  number.

 

 

 

In the upper part of the window there are buttons performing other actions with diseases and points. 

Click on the necessary button to choose a necessary operation.

 

 

 Above the list with diseases there are buttons helping to operate with them.

 - Add New__

 

- Disease. Enter the name for a new disease in the field under the list  

 

and press the button  .

Press the button  to cancel a new disease adding.

 

 -  Point.

Mark with the mouse a point on one of the pictures

And press the button  

 

 

 You are also able to download a new picture  and register a point on it. If you have uploaded a wrong picture, you can change it with the button  .

 

To call off adding a new point, press  .

 

After marking a point on the picture, enter its index, name and description in the corresponding fields.

 

 

Press   to keep the new point in the database. In order to call off the adding of a new point, press .

 

 - Delete __

           

            - Disease.  Select a necessary disease before deletion. 

 

            - Point.  Choose a necessary point from the list before deletion.

 

 

 - Edit__

 

- Disease.  Enter all necessary changes in the field under the list of diseases and press  to keep alterations. To recall changes, press .

 

- Point. Enter all necessary changes in the field under the list with points, press the button  to keep alterations.  To recall changes, press .

 

 

 - Changing the relation «Diseases-Points» (only for diseases).

 

Before using this option, choose a necessary disease from the list. 

 

 

 

There is a list of the all Points Atlas on the right, on the left – points  corresponding to  chosen disease. Shift the points from the list on the left to the list located on the right side with the button .

 

To remove the point on the right side, press the button

To go back to the Atlas window, press

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 - Search__

 

            - Disease.  Enter target disease into the search bar and press  .

            - Point. Enter the name or index of a necessary point and press .

 

To go back to the diseases’/points’  list, press the button  located above the list of diseases (points).  

 

 

Templates.

  This panel is supposed for creating templates of diagnostics and treatment.

 

 

 

                              

Basic functions  of the Templates tab

If there are no templates kept, the list is empty.

To choose the template, press down arrow button. Press on one of the lines in the appeared list.

New Template  - this is command button for adding a new template.

When adding the new template, the software’s window has a following view:

 

 

 

Enter a name for the new template in the field

 

 

         Adding a point in the template.

 

Press the button  to add a point in the template.  In such way, you will be shifted to the Point’s’ Info  tab

   

 

You can perform all actions described in the previous section (see Point’s Info)

However, Menu (located in the left part of the window) becomes inactive when you add a new point.   

Choose a point from the list

 

and press the button . The point will be added in the template and you will be directed to the templates’ editor.

To go back to the templates’ editor without adding a new point, press the button  .

 

The added point will be displayed in the beginning of the table and also will appear on the picture from the right.

 

Let us view the points’ table:

 

 

                                                                                                            

To make changes in the table, choose a point pressing the corresponding line of the table.

This line will be highlighted by a green color.

 

           

In the same manner it is possible to choose the necessary point on the picture (to do that just clicking with the mouse on it). The corresponding table line to this point will be marked automatically.

Changing the point’s color.  Press  . Choose a color in the opened palette and press OK.

 

Deletion the point from the template .  Confirm or cancel deletion of the point:

 

 

 

Edit the point’s receipt  . Pressing the button you open the panel for editing the point’s receipt.

 

 

  - adding a new line for color correction.

 

 

Preset the correction time, color and frequency of the color.

 

 - adding a new line for frequency correction.

 

 

Preset the frequency and correction time.

 

 - removal of the chosen line for color or frequency correction (choose the necessary line before deletion).

 

            - all lines deletion.

 - saving the changes in receipt.

 - closing the receipt editing tab.  

 

 - you can enter here any information about a point, its location,

indication, etc.

 

After closing the receipt tab we go back to templates editor.

 

 - saving a new or changed template.

 

 -  undo of all changes made in the template including the points’ receipts

 

 - deletion of the template  (this command is equal for the button  which is near the list of templates)

 

Press Next and Back  to view the pictures of a chosen template

 

Picture’s name .

 

 - testing according to the chosen template.  

 

 - treatment according to the chosen template.

 

 

 

Testing.

     This function of the software helps you to examine, assess health state evaluating measurement values of meridians of the body (the electrical conductivity of acupuncture points on the skin).

 

 

 

Characteristics of diagnostics displaying and data entry.

 

To start a testing  prepare the device as follows:

·        Check the connection of the passive electrode, detecting probe in dedicated jacks

·        Connect USB-cable to the device and computer.

·        Run the software

·        If the card’s list is empty, create a new card

·        If the list with templates is empty, create a new template for testing

·        Press the button

      ●    Choose a template from the templates’ list

 

 

• Choose a client from the list

 

 

• Set testing parameters, what  functions of the software you want to choose. It can be either testing function, or testing with color treatment, or test or frequency therapy, or all together, test, color and frequency therapy.

• Choose the time for an automatic shift to a next point testing.

 

 

 

Lower section of the Testing window displays the template points (use scroll to view all of the points). Active point is marked with a green color. Index, name and description of the active point are shown above the list.

 

 

On the left picture the active point is blinking red.

 

            Upper part of the window Теsting  shows the scale with values of skin conductance.

 

 

 

            The scale consists of the numerical values of the skin conductance and a dynamic line. The line is a real time graphing of your skin conductance received from the organs’ representative points in the process of testing.

 

 

Red line  – displays the testing process of a point in a current moment.

 

The lower part displays the graph of the all test according to the template.

 

 

 

The vertical line of the graph displays numerical values of skin conductance level, horizontal line shows points’ numbers.

 

 

 

Let us go to the ТЕSTING process.

.

Place the active/passive measuring probe with moistened cotton over the examinee’s test point, you will hear a short beep. The reading begins at that moment. 

 

When the process of testing began,  the Menu tab (which is located in the left part of the software’s window) becomes inert. A user can’t shift to the other tab until testing will not be completed or aborted (the button )

 

After 3 seconds the running red line stabilizes and reaches the end of display scale, you will hear a short beep and measurement value will be displayed on the lower graph. 

 

To go to the next measurement place the electrode on the examinee’s skin in accordance with the next point’s illustration.

To repeat currently measured or any other point, press the    button to go to the next point or the   button to shift to a previous point. Shifting back and forth allows you to test a point which is displayed in the program. This function helps you to avoid erroneous data input.

 

To abort testing process, press the button .

 

 

 

·      On completion of measuring the skin conductance level on all points of the template, the button   becomes active. Press on it to view  test results summary.

 

 

 

 

 

The first column of the test results shows the point’s number in the template.

 

Second column – the point’s index .

Third column – measurement value on the first and third seconds of testing.

Fourth columns displays the name of a point.

Fifth column – measurement value in a percentage.

 

The blue stripe on the chart designates an imbalance of a person’s energy state.

Green color means a physiological balance, ideal state. If the electric conductivity value exceeds the average state, it shows red color and it means that  dysfunctions in the meridian are indicated.

 

 The longer stripe is in either directions, blue or red, the worse the condition of the meridian and organ connected with it. 

 

 

Date and time of the test are displayed above the measurement results table.

 

 

 

 

 

To save testing results and returning back to the diagnostics window, press the button  . Confirm or cancel the command.

 

 

 

 

 CORRECTION  

 

After saving test results, the diagnostics window is ready for the process of correction (if a corresponding method is chosen). Correction of the body is performed either with the help of color or frequencies (or both).

 

 

In order to start correction process, place a probe on the skin in correspondence with a point’s illustration and press the button .

 

You will hear a short beep indicating that correction begins.

 

Having completed influencing on one point, place the probe according to the other point’s illustration and press the button  again. 

 

 

Press the button   to shift automatically on points.

To suspend the correction, press  . To interrupt the correction process, press the button .

 

On completion of the all points correction, the software will notify you that the process is finished.   

 

            Press  and the information about correction done will be automatically saved in the database. After that the diagnostics window is ready for a new testing again.

 

Print

 

  This function enables a user to print out the information about a client, test and correction results of a given client. 

 

 

 

You can assign the print settings you want to be printed out or choose a template from the template’s list.

 

 

Defining Print Options.

 

 In order to open an empty template, choose Default from the template’s list

 

 

 

 

 

 

Check the boxes with information you want to be printed out.

 

 

Name – Name of the client will be printed out.

Birth date – if you check this box, client’s birth date will be printed out.

Registration date – the date when you registered a client’s card will be printed

Results –  testing results.

Choosing this setting, you open the list with all tests for the given client saved in  a software’s database.

 

Check the test results which you want to print out. If the testing was not conducted for a chosen client, the list is empty.

 

           

Treatment  -  gives you information about carried out correction.

Recommendations  –  shows treatment recommendations. Checking this setting, you open the list with the all recommendations.  

You are able to choose previously saved recommendations or create new ones. To create a new recommendation, use the tab located in the upper right window corner.

 

 

 

Press the button  . Enter a recommendation name  in the line near it.

In the lower field enter a text for recommendation and press the button 

 

You are also enabled to use this bar for viewing, changing and deletion of recommendations.

 

To view the recommendation, choose it from the list of recommendations.

 

 

Enter all necessary changes and click the button .

 

To remove the recommendation, press the button .

 

 

Let us come back to defining the print settings.

After creating of your recommendations, check necessary ones on the panel located from the left.

 

You can also assign an order of data arraying on the paper. Use the panel which is in the lower part of the software’s window.

 

 

Mark one of the lines and move it with the help of up  or  down    arrows.

            To create Header and Footer  use the tab located in the upper part of the software’s window.
